Cruise Time Booker grew from a lifetime of real adventures. Michelle and I have been traveling together since 1988—from road trips across the country to cruises, islands, and unforgettable ports. I’ve been sailing since 1993 and have experienced many ships, cabins, cruise lines, destinations, and plenty of lessons learned along the way.

My working life has always centered on solving problems and helping people. I operated HandyRon Handyman Services for more than 23 years, installed accessibility lifts, completed projects for major retailers, and served alongside Michelle as a South Carolina State Park host. Those experiences taught me to listen carefully, plan thoroughly, work honestly, and take care of people from beginning to end.

We learned not to wait for someday. Before my cancer diagnosis, Michelle had already endured two hip replacements and a hysterectomy. In August 2019, I learned that I had cancer. After chemotherapy and additional treatment, I was told in December 2019 that without an esophagectomy, I might have only one year to live. I chose the surgery, and together we faced another difficult recovery.

When COVID-19 changed the world, South Carolina’s state parks became part of our therapy and healing. Time outdoors, volunteering, exploring, and photographing our adventures helped us rebuild our strength and look toward the future. During this time, we took more than 200 adventure trips—discovering parks, coastlines, historic places, wildlife, roadside surprises, and countless stories along the way.
